    A crow was flying by

A piece of cheese she found

    This will be my dinner

    This cheese upon the ground

The crow went to her tree

And sat down on her nest

    She thought about the cheese

And how it was the best

    A fox came striding by

    Wanting to have a look

He thought about a huge plan

This plan could make a book

The fox said “How are you?

    You look very nice today

    So magnificent and so beautiful

    So nice and good

I am rather jealous I say!”

“But I wonder if you sound nice

I wonder if you can sing

Sing so nice sing so good

Sing to make my ears ring!”

    The crow opened her beak

    She sat straight upright

    She muffled her wings

    And sang so nice

    Until her beak felt tight

The cheese fell near the fox

He said “You are black as leather

You sing so nice but sadly, so sadly

    You aren’t that very clever
