Space Adventure by Ashleigh Low

    Space Adventure

Crash! My body shook at the violent way my spaceship threw me out, sending me plummeting onto the hard yellow grass-covered ground. After relieving myself from the pain, I opened my eyes to see a cheetah’s red eyes gazing over my body hungrily almost striking for the kill. For a millisecond, I stuck to the spot by the clear, beautiful eyes. Awakening from my trance, I used the tactic that my six sense told me I knew since birth, run as fast as the wind except in curved lines. However, seemingly, the cheetah was ready for my sudden turn, using his sharp dog-like claws for the high speed change. The race was on again. Suddenly, a disturbing thought entered me - cheetah’s don’t eat humans, so why was he running after me? Gazing up, the horns of an antelope came before my eyes, stopping the blood my heart was pumping into me... The cheetah was almost on me, saliva dripping from his mouth. Gasping for air, I took the only chance I had to live and ran at 86 km/hr. Finding, my spaceship, I prepared my hind legs for a giant leap. Flying to a safer place in the savanna,  I jumped down right into a tree, scratching my sides severely. Suddenly, my nose turned into a trunk and my teeth tusks. My stomach growled, telling me to reach for the trees for food. After filling my stomach, glittering water attracted me. Using my trunk to keep moist and spray myself, I stomped to a tree and lay. What other place could be so calm?
